Use google apps to setup a centralized e-mail box for your multiple domains
I have multiple domains and receive emails from mailboxes that I have setup on my host from many of the domains. As you know this can become very time consuming to keep up with, checking multiple mail accounts and responding to e-mails.
I had been searching for a “hosted” solution, one location where I could check all my relevant email on a reliable “cloud” hosted solution.
I know many of you are thinking, just use outlook on my PC.
I could have done that with multiple domain emails using the standard way you would setup an outlook or outlook express account, or any other mail client for that matter.
In the past used email forwarders from my host to a gmail account or another hosted e-mail account, the problem being when you reply to an email it comes from the gmail address and not the address that the email was sent to, it does not look very professional.
In my research I found some quite pricey hosted solutions out there, and a few with less than reliable feedback on forums that I checked out.
I finally found a solution to my problem, and got some additional features that I really was not even looking for.
If you do have multiple domains, pick the one you use the most, maybe your main business name xyz.com, then go to google, and click on the “Business solutions” link under the search box
There will be many google business solutions, click on google apps, you will then be at a page with a messaging / mail icon, and collaboration icon. On the right side of the page will be a Blue “See details and sign up” button, click it and you will go to a page where there will be a bunch of sales stuff and another button on the right that says “Begin free Trial” Read all the stuff of course.
The free trial is 30 days, then after that they charge $50.00 for the year… which breaks out to less than $5.00 a month, now this is nothing in comparison to other hosted solutions that offered similar functionality.
Once you do that you login to your google apps account, then read all the features etc..
Then you go to your hosting account where your “main” business name domain is located, you then create a CNAME record to point to googles servers, google has detailed instructions for this.
Once you get that setup you can test your email, then you can read more on goolge help while logged into your google apps account and from there you can do a few different things, you can setup domain aliases so other domains can send email to this account, that will involve changing your CNAME record on those domains, or for an easier way you can setup e-mail forwarders from your other domains.
Then you can setup “labels” for each under filters on your google apps email for your main domain email, this way each email coming in from different domains will be labeled with a unique label so you will know where it is coming from.
When you reply to one of the emails from one of your I will call it sub accounts it will read to the sender
Sent by xxx@xyz.com (your primary google apps hosted email)
On behalf of “Whatever name” xxx@abc.com (your forwarded or domain alias email)
Since this box has 25 gig of space it is more than enough
I have been a user of google’s free gmail account for years and it has been very reliable, so I would imagine their paid business solutions would be as reliable as the free accounts or even more reliable.
Also a neat feature is you can add on google labs stuff to your box.
I added something called multiple mailboxes, it uses the labels of your different emails from your other domains, and sorts them in up to 5 different panes anywhere on the page that you specify.
If you have more than 5 other domain emails either forwarded or aliases setup you can just use the filter labels to sort them out.
And of course you have the power of google search within your google apps hosted account.
I searched for this functionality for a while and only found pricey solutions that had negative feedback from clients, so far I am happy with this solution, it is serving me well, and hope this post will help other small business owners.

Nationwide craigslist search for all cities
I have been searching for a way to search all craigslist sites at once, and through my research I found that craigslist does not allow developers access to any API interface that can access their nationwide database of posts.
So what is the solution?
I found that craigslist does allow google to index there site almost realtime, and I researched a way using google’s custom search to accomplish what I needed to do. I have programmed a custom google search box below that uses the most powerful search engine “Google”.
Just type in the term of what you happen to be searching for, and the results will be displayed right on google’s site.
Once you check out the results be aware that there are multiple pages of results, so scroll down to
access the additional pages.
To limit your search to a specific city just enter the name of the city and the item you are looking for in
the search bar.
Example:
“atlanta” “widget”
Remember this will limit your results.

How to make extra money in self publishing creating digital electronic books for the Amazon Kindle

When you Prepare one of your books for sale using the Kindle self-publishing option, the process is broken down into three easy steps. Step one is to provide an accurate description of the book. Complete all the fields. Write a title for your book, with your name as the author, and then write a detailed description. If you happen to be selling a how-to guide, make sure that you highlight a few steps or topics that you have covered in the book. If you are selling a creative work of fiction, maybe your genre is in the paranormal, books like the Twilight series, make sure you summarize your storyline and introduce the main characters.

Lately I have been doing some research on getting back to basics. Eventually I would like to live a self-sustainable lifestyle, one that includes alternative energy sources like solar, geothermal, wind, passive heating and cooling techniques.
A community garden may be a good place to start learning, and serve as a great education when the time comes to start your own garden.
My wife and I have discussed once we find our next residence, I.E. we are looking for land in North Georgia, we would like to have something on the order of a cottage farm.

How to make some extra money on eBay and maybe change your life
I started thinking about a home business years ago, sometime after seeing many of my co-workers fall subject to corporate downsizing and layoffs, these day job experiences spurred my dreams of becoming an entrepreneur. I was looking for something that would help me generate some extra cash to pay the bills, and of course to make life easier. The problem… I was not about to start over AGAIN working for someone else. I made a couple of bucks here and there, but not a steady income. I really was weary with all of the hype, and tired of hearing about the next big “opportunity”.
I just wanted something I could work hard at, and make an honest second income, with a good potential to grow, the harder I worked. It was by chance that I found just that, and in the past few years I have made a really good second income.
I will show you how to do the same. There are many ways to make money, and the internet has opened vast opportunities for those who can focus and build.
This blog is dedicated to the most profitable online business ventures that I have found to be consistant cash generators. I got started in online business just by chance back in 1997, it all really started with an online auction site called eBay, a site just about everyone has heard of and probably used at one time or another.
Let me start by telling you how I got started in online marketing;
One Saturday my Wife and I stopped at a neighborhood garage sale and picked up some neat things for a good price. I had made my first purchase ever, the week before on Ebay, and the transaction was very smooth. This got me thinking…, I had heard about people making good money on eBay and decided to give it a try myself. I did some research, I spent a few bucks on some good reference material, and then I got started. I was excited once I discovered the true income potential that was there. “Example”, one of the first few items that I listed on Ebay was a paper Japanese lamp that I bought at a Garage sale for 50 cents, it ended up selling for $44.00, and that was a deal for the buyer, why you ask?, becuase it turns out that the lamp was an Isamu Noguchi original lamp, and I remeber thinking: “if this is for real… buying goods for a pennies and selling for huge profits, I am going to do this…, same thing over and over, and “failure is NOT an option”. So, I began searching for additional sources of quality unique goods, items that have a universal popular appeal, or one of kind items, and have been amazed at the success.
No more Network Marketing, no more MLM, no more jumping from one money making scheme to another, I was making money, instead of waisting it on pipe dreams.
These days I am very selective about the business ventures that I spend time on.
This blog is dedicated to the real-life experiences, failures, and successes that I can say are worth spending time on.
The rest is history. In the past 12 years, my dreams been realized. I am so thankful for the financial blessings and good fortune I have found with my home-based business ventures, although my goals have changed a bit. I have found that how hard I work is directly proportional to how much money I make. Sometimes I get lazy and loose focus, and make less, although many of my business systems are automated, and some of those systems are cash cows.
I know Success is not merely financial. I look forward to the friendships I share with others who have the same desire for success. For me, success is about building relationships with other people. After all, I still believe that the best is yet to come
