Poor economy spurs home garden boom – another home business idea?
Lately I have been doing some research on getting back to basics. Eventually I would like to live a self-sustainable lifestyle, one that includes alternative energy sources like solar, geothermal, wind, passive heating and cooling techniques.
A community garden may be a good place to start learning, and serve as a great education when the time comes to start your own garden.
My wife and I have discussed once we find our next residence, I.E. we are looking for land in North Georgia, we would like to have something on the order of a cottage farm.
This is an interesting article I ran across that give some current perspective on the subject of the recent renewed interest in home gardening.
I could easily see this as a second income prospect for a family as well.
